Many of our players have expressed interest in earning service hours for their various high school clubs of which they are members. As a non-profit, we have many opportunities/areas for the players to give back to the club. Those interested can choose a younger team where they contribute by participating in team practices throughout the season or sign up to help out occasionally at clinics or VolleyU. This experience can be mutually beneficial in that the older student athletes will be shadowing our coaching staff and gaining valuable knowledge of the leadership/coaching aspects of volleyball. They will be assisting our young players and investing in their development while building trust from the younger players and serving as mentors as they grow in the sport.
Many of the players from our 16-2 team adopted the 13-2 team last season and it was exciting for the 16s to witness the growth and enthusiasm for volleyball as much as it was for the 13-2 team to have these girls as mentors.
In an effort to enable our older student athletes to mentor our younger student athletes, NC Elite is providing this opportunity for our players who are 16 years old and older to participate.
