Morrisville, NC, June 22, 2011: Orlando Florida
was the site for the 2011 Amateur Athletic Union
(AAU) National Championships. NC Elite 16-2
captured the Classic division championship with
a straight-set win over the Eastside 16-1 team
[25-17, 25-22]. Elites overall record was 9-2
for the 4-day event. Elite entered the event as
the overall #21 seed.
Three team members Abby Keller, Marissa
Mayfield and Molly Tatum were selected for the
All-American Team and Molly Tatum was selected
as Tournament MVP.
NC Elite 16-2 is coached by Oguz Degirmenci and
Micholene Schumacher. The team members are:

Junior Olympic organization dedicated to the
growth of volleyball in the Raleigh/Durham area.
Our focus is developing young athletes ages
10-18 yrs old, to the peak of their ability. NC
Elite Volleyball Club is a member of the
Carolina Region of USA Volleyball, the national
volleyball organization of the U.S. Olympic
program.
